Stealing lissy doll from Miss Trunchbull

Saturday the 4th of May 1996

Dear Diary.
Tonight, I did a crazy thing and I feel so exhilarated that justice has been restored. I broke into Miss Trunchbull’s house again, well technically not broken in, but I did steal Lissy doll back for miss Honey and do a little bit of redecorating as well. Now that it’s happened I feel a bit scared whether I will get caught or not.

After I had discovered my powers I decided to use them for good and go to miss Trunchbull’s house to get Miss Honey’s doll back. When I got to the monsters lair I climbed up to the widow where I saw Lissy doll last time I was there. I was so glad to see that Miss Trunchbull hadn’t moved her. Once I had carefully moved the picture of Magnus, Miss Honey’s father, out of the way I started pulling the doll towards the window, but it was extremely windy outside so as soon as the doll get out of the window it flew into a tree. This was extremely frustrating as I was already very exhausted from what I had done in getting Lissy out here. With all my might I concentrated on that doll, beckoning her to come towards me. It was hard but eventually I got her past the window and into my arms, I was so jovial, it felt like I was holding a trophy that I had just won. On my way back, I walked past a window and saw miss Trunchbull throwing her javelins around, so I decided to get some revenge for the entire school and torment her. Bad people need to be taught a lesson.

Tormenting the Trunchbull like that just feels as if it has given me a new power and will inside that is gives me uncontrollable joy. I think that Miss Honey will be extremely happy tomorrow when I give her back her doll. She might be a bit worried about how I got it though so hopefully it goes down well for her and she won’t break down worrying about whether or not Miss Trunchbull will realise who broke into her house. There is absolutely no way in this world that Miss Trunchbull will find out that I was actually the one that messed up her house, scare her out of her mind and replaced Magnus with her painting. If I am lucky she will be superstitious enough to believe that it actually is the soul of Magnus coming back to haunt her and that house. If she still comes to school tomorrow I will make sure that she believes that it is Magnus haunting her for all of the horrible things she has done to his daughter and everybody at that school. Hopefully she does not have a tantrum tomorrow because I do not want all of my friends at school to go through anymore of her horrible punishments. I will report back tomorrow night and tell you what happens.

Yours sincerely

Matilda
